Dianne was working in the country at the time of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. She talked about her veterinary work in the region, the culture of Samoa and the terrifying recent events. Jan, Tammy and Justin choreographed the students dance routines with Tara, Laura, Melis, Tali and Isobelle contributing to choreography in students own choreographic sections. First trophy winner: Tali – Open Classical Ballet Solo and Novice Neo Classical Solo Second trophy winner: Tali – Own Choreography Open Contemporary Duo. Bairnsdale Advertiser: 20th February 2009 Tali training with the best Tali, an 11-year-old ballet dancer from Clifton Creek, has been invited by the Australian Ballet School to train at its ballet centre in Melbourne during 2009. In 2007, Tali auditioned for a place in the school’s international / regional program and was successful to receive an entry into the training program for 2008. After successfully completing the Australian Ballet School level one program in 2008, Tali will now travel to Melbourne throughout the year to participate in and complete the level two program during 2009. Tali attends classes with Jan School of Dance, where she studies classical ballet, theatrical jazz and contemporary dance. |
