Southern Metropolitan Indigenous Family Violence Regional Action Group
The Southern Metropolitan Regional Indigenous Family Violence Action Group (SMR IFVAG) is a group of people who wish to make a difference for their local communities and family groups. We have a passion to address all members of our community, being men, women, elders, youth and same sex couples who have experiences, witnessed or perpetrated family violence.
The SMR Indigenous Family Violence Action Group committee consists of 10-12 members; the
• Chairperson
• Indigenous organisation representatives
• Indigenous community representative of Elders, youth, women, men and same sex couples
The DHS SMR program staff and mainstream service providers are invited to attend meetings to provide progress reports on programs for the region that are relevant or could have possible impact on the Family Violence Strategy.
