INGLEWOOD COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRE
NEWSLETTER
Seems a while since we had a newsletter reporting on Morning Teas, birthdays and matters of interest to volunteers.
Firstly a belated Happy Birthday to Judy (October), Bev (November) and Jean McClymont (December).
A very Happy Birthday to Beth Taylor for 24 December.
Best Wishes to Judy who is having surgery on her knee. Hope you will soon be up and well again, Judy.
Morning Teas have now been established as a regular monthly event and will continue through 2005 on the last Wednesday of each month.
However the last Wednesday in January 2005 is Australia Day so mark Wednesday, 10.30 February 2nd in your diary for Morning Tea. Also we have found that the Morning Teas are a great way to network with others in the community. Our guests don’t necessarily need to be people that are involved with other community groups. So invite your neighbour, sister brother, the dog! along to Morning Tea.
Heather and Tina have kindly volunteered to keep the Centre open on Wednesdays and Thursdays over the Christmas New Year break so if you get a chance, pop into the Centre and say hullo, some days might be a bit quiet. Heather, if you start complaining about being short of money in January we will all know you have whiled your hours away on E Bay !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to Heather – she has put in an application to do the Loddon Murray Leadership Program. Hope you are selected Heather – you will really enjoy the course.
Thankyou to everyone for your help, input and hard work this year. Have a wonderful Christmas, a very Happy New Year, a relaxing break and stay safe until we all get together again in 2005.
Barbara
PS I know that to be politically correct I am supposed to be saying “Happy Holidays”
– no Merry, no Christmas etc etc. if you want to know what I think of that idea you will have to ask me as my comment is not printable !!!!!!!!!!!
‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the Centre
Not a creature was stirring
Not even the computer mouse.
The phone/fax was quiet
The Internet was down.
Debbie sprang to the ledgers, gave the accounts a whistle
And they flew away like down from a thistle.
Debbie’s balanced the cheque book
Because DHS want to have a look
Then there arose such a clatter
That Beth sprang from her office
To see what was the matter.
And there to her wondering eyes did appear
A little old man from ACFE
Saying here’s extra funding for next year.
Seeing this little old man so lively and quick,
Beth knew in a flash
It must be a trick.
“I’ll phone Bev, She’s in the know”
Bev said “Sounds strange, but never fear
Tell him to come back next year.
Heather and Tina can hear him out
Hopefully they’ll know what it’s all about.”
In 2004 we developed a plan
To cover safety, risk, cleaning and computer spm.
So Gordon, don’t panic or worry you have nothing to dread
Barbara wrote it with a wink of her eye and a twist of her head.
Then in a twinkling we heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
It’s Jean and her Loddon Rise Finns’
Coming down the chimney to try and get in.
Colleen’s settled down for a nice long nap,
She’ll need it before she puts on her Leadership cap.
Judy has asked Santa for a new knee,
But with Victoria’s Health system that won’t come free.
Nicole has closed her casebooks with care
In the hopes there’ll be more funding next year.
And I heard Bev exclaim as she drove out of sight
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
