October's meeting was a quiz night at Ruth Black's home. After the shared meal, the children sat on the lounge room floor engrossed in dvds while the adults, in teams of four, competed to show off their knowledge of events and faces. George's unexpected questions at times puzzled all of us e.g. There were 20 sick sheep and four died. How many were left? (If you think that is easy, read it aloud, quickly.) And how many provinces are there in Kalimantan, George? Greg Penna's team (Greg, Ruth, Clayton and Enti) and Roy Kay's (Ron, Paul, Sandra and Liana) were neck and neck, but a superior ability to recognise faces from photographs meant Greg's team won (Yet again!!) Congratulations go to all who took part. Our thanks to George for preparing and delivering a stimulating series of quiz questions - and for his unflappability when we argued about the answers! Thanks too go to Ruth for making her home available as our October venue. |
