November's meeting was a fancy dress occasion at the Pennas' new home. It was a Sunday lunchtime activity, an opportunity for BAIK members to meet and also an opportunity for us to celebrate Sandra Penna's birthday. (Twenty one again, Sandra?) We enjoyed the outdoor setting and, as well as the usual Indonesian food brought by our members, the products of the Penna barbeque (Aaaahhhh, those sate!!!! Thank you Sandra) We also enjoyed the varied costumes members wore, each representing the letter S. Amongst the guests were a Secretary, a Stewardess, two Students, the Solar System, two Sikhs, a Slippery Slithery Slug, a Schoolteacher, a Suffragette, a Snob, a Sorcerer, an SRN Sister, a Suami and Saddam Hussein. Helen Bruinier prepared 40 questions with answers beginning with S, in two languages. We taxed our brains on them with varying levels of success. Thanks go to the Pennas for making their home available, to Helen for the quiz questions, to Etty and James Lerk for acting as judges and MC and to all who entered into the spirit of the day. |
