November Meeting

The November meeting was on Sunday November 20th, a lunchtime picnic at Mt. Franklin.

Some of us travelled by bus, others by car, some following the bus - and Pak Heri mostly following the bus.

After the meal a number of us climbed up to the rim of the volcano, which thankfully remained extinct, in spite of Greg’s predictions. Going down proved more challenging than going up (yes, Bu Sandra?) But we all made it down without injury and with increased pride in our mountaineering skills.

On the way home our driver Steve Campbell took us to the Chocolate Factory. Such a variety of rich delights! Fortified, we continued via Newstead and Maldon, stopping at the “biggest tree” opposite the Happy Jack store. Nine of us verified that it was big by linking hands around the trunk.

Thank you Steve for organising the event (including the perfect weather?) and for acting as bus driver. it was a very relaxing, pleasant day. Maybe we could do it again next year?
