| In 1977, the then Huntly Shire Council moved into new Municipal Offices and the former Council Chambers [address 620 - 634 Midland Highway} became the home of the newly-formed Huntly & Districts' Historical Society.
[In 1994, the Shire of Huntly ceased to exist & became part of the City of Greater Bendigo Council] The Huntly & Dist. Historical Society cares for four buildings: the former Council Chambers built in 1867; the former Court of Petty Sessions built in 1874; the former lock-up; the small Post office building. Collectively these buildings comprise the 'Huntly Heritage Centre'and are located on either side of the Midland Highway in the Huntly Township in Central Victoria, AUSTRALIA. The rooms are open on each first Sunday of the month [except January]from 2pm till 4pm. Other times by arrangement. Groups welcome. Admission by donation.
