La Manna Under 18's At Heatherdale


	Congratulations to Armando and Carol Protopapas for organising and running the inaugural La Manna 2 bowl triples for under 18 competitors at our club on Sunday 27th March. On the day they were ably assisted by Gunter Loidl, Merv Hicks and Norm Ryland.
	Due to generous sponsorship from La Manna they were able to provide a cost free day to all competitors. Winners and runners up received trophies and cash prizes. Resting touchers and touchers were rewarded with JB-HiFi vouchers . Each player was presented with a medallion signifying the event. Drinks, icy poles, sweets and McDonalds vouchers were there for all. A free sausage sizzle lunch was provided for all in attendance.
	The ability of the competitors ranged from Premier division down and ages from 17 to 10. The standard of bowls was great and it was a pleasure to see a green filled with such young and competent players. Bundoora were the winners with the Cougars ( a local u18 group ) runners up. With teams coming as far afield as Dromana, Frankston, Deer Park, Somerville and spread wider and enhanced in the bowls community for this day
