Hobsons Bay Womens Referral Service Inc (HBWRS)
The service offers confidential, friendly advice, information and referral to services for women, in a relaxed, safe & comfortable setting. There are a number of services and groups in the region that are available to women at no cost. HBWRS will focus on:
* Women's wellbeing and welfare.
* Family Violence Issues.
* Referral to Legal Services.
* Sole Parenting issues.
* Welfare to work (returning to the workforce).
* Centrelink entitlements.
* Further education, courses and how to enrol.
* Physical wellbeing
* Forming women's groups to prevent social isolation
The primary Mission of HBWRS is to provide information to women so that they can make informed decisions about their lives which will empower them and enable them to live their lives to their full potential. Women (girls) tend to experience many of the same issues and encounter the same difficulties regardless of age, culture, nationality or religion - there is no barrier.
The Service is located in the Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre, 2 Newham Way, Altona Meadows and is open on Mondays 9.00am to 1.00pm, Wednesdays 9.00am to 1.00pm, Thursdays 5.00pm to 8.00pm and on Saturday afternoons.

WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE LOOK OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS - IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DONATE 3 HOURS PER WEEK TO THE WOMEN OF YOUR COMMUNITY DROP IN TO THE SERVICE BETWEEN THE ADVERTISED HOURS FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
