| The D1810 |
| This is a recent addition to my toy box.
A 1977 International Harvester D1510 dual cab truck. Its net weight is ? tonnes and gross its about 6 and a half tonnes and has a combined maximum weight of 11 and a half tonnes. We bought it from a horsey couple out north from Traralgon (Vic) who no longer needed it. It had a Luton Peak horse float on it - which we sold cheaply on ebay. But ive spent some money and had all the rust cut out, some new metal put in and some spots have some fake metal inserted, new door and window rubbers and a new paint job- Flat International Red. I replaced all the wood on the tray floor and i am about to finish off the cosmetics and get it RWC and registered. At present it has a 281 6 cylinder petrol engine with a 4 speed gearbox. I have got a 392 V8 with an Allison AT540 4 speed auto to drop straight into it. I also have the 10/41 high speed diff centre - but they are mods for after it gets registered. Lots of photos in the photobucket.... http://s658.photobucket.com/albums/uu304/wgipps/International Harvester D1510/ Further, I just bought a D1810 - the white one above. I got a bargain with this one - it has 6 very good 20 inch tyres, an Eaton 2 speed diff, heavy duty tow package and original (in really good nick) vinyl cab floor mat. The mould you can see growing has been cleaned off and it reveals a body in really good condition. Very little rust - to the point that i might even do the body repair work myself!! Stay tuned... |
