James father, Andrew, died 4 days prior to this advertisment appearing. Andrews death notice appears in this paper on the same date.
It appears William was living with James at the time. William moved to a new property in 1921, which may have been when James actually sold the properties first advertisied in May 1920

REMINISCENCES OF ROY LAWRENCE FINCHER
born 19.10.1900 at Lauriston (just east of Malmsbury)
died 24.04.1988 at Geelong (87 years)
son of GEORGE FRANCIS and MARGARET LAWRENCE FINCHER

We used to do some work for Jim Cuddihy the undertaker in Kyneton, who also did some building and repairs, mostly for the Roman Catholic Church at Trentham and East Trentham. This particular time we went out from Kyneton with a pair of black horses and a double seated hooded buggy from Skidmore’s stables. When we arrived there one of the horses took ill and had colic. Jim Cuddihy sent Charlie Stringer and Arthur Tonks over to Scaler the blacksmith for a remedy for the colic. He gave them the recipe of a quart of beer, 12 packets of salts, 1 ounce of ginger and 1 ounce of nitre. They took the billy over to the hotel to get the beer and by the time they returned, some time later, the horse looked alright so they drank the beer instead. We drove the horse back the 12 miles to Kyneton that night.

Sometimes I would give Jim Cuddihy a hand in making coffins, being a carpenter and joiner by trade.
