The Gisborne Toy Library is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, providing a cost effective way for parents to access a large amount of educational and play material. Toys available for loan cater for children from birth to eight years old. Available for loan are trikes, cars, puzzles, games, sports equipment, role play toys, baby toys, blocks, train sets to name a few.
The Toy Library is situated in the old Gisborne Bush Nursing Hospital building at 80 Hamilton Street (next door to the Saint Mary Medical Center). The Toy Library is an incorporated association, owned by its' members and managed by a committee that is elected annually. The Committee meets approximately every 6 weeks and a newsletter is published each term to keep members up to date with Toy Library happenings.
The Toy Library is open during school term only. It is closed during school and public holidays (not open long weekends).
The Toy Library is only open on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month regardless of when term begins.
