18/02/2003 - VLBA team wins their penultimate game for the season, guaranteeing promotion (to Division A2) for next season with a game & a half margin over 3rd place.

29/01/2003 - RVBA cancels all results in the Divisions 4 - 9 Metro Pennant competitions (Rd 13) due to the number of games not completed due to inclement weather. Fairfield's Div 5 team recovers 9 "lost" points after losing to Essendon. The Div 2 win stands.

27/01/2003 - Tony McFarlane and sub Tamara Jervies (for Peter Hession) win the RVBA Affiliates Club Pairs Title with a last-end 17-16 score over Ivan Young & Jim Inglis in the final.

11/01/2003 - Brian Wilcock wins the RVBA Affiliates Club Singles Title with a 25-22 score over Tony McFarlane in the final.

3/12/2002 - Half-way point of the season - The VLBA team holds the 2nd position on the ladder, the RVBA Div 2 team is holding steady (5th) and the RVBA Div 5 team is keeping above relegation (8th).

14/11/2002 - Frank Gray wins Group 11 Veteran Singles Championship.

Our club is located at 125 Gillies St Fairfield Victoria. It is a small but successful club playing the sport of Lawn Bowls with an emphasis on making new and existing members feel welcome. We participate in the RVBA & VLBA pennant competitions, the NEDNPA night pennant competition and provide a number of social games on a regular basis. Non-commital coaching sessions are available.

We welcome all players: young or old, men or ladies, experienced or novice, pennant or social players.

The club is managed by a Committee of Management, accountable to the general membership. Each of the RVBA & VLBA affiliated sections have their own committees. A social committee, communications committee and property committee make up the club.

The club owns its own property.

The RVBA affiliates compete on Saturday afternoons in Division 2 and Division 5. The VLBA affiliates compete on Tuesday afternoons in Division B1. The Night pennant side competes on Tuesday nights. There is an involvement in a Winter Pennant competition.

Fairfield Bowling Club 90th Anniversary - 8 Feb 2003

Fairfield Bowling Club celebrated its 90th Anniversary with a dinner at the club. The function was represented by the RVBA President, Arnold O'Brien, and many past & present players. The celebration raged well into the next morning. All present would wish to thank Allan Webb for his organistion of the event.

Fairfield Ladies Bowling Club 75th Anniversary - 8 Oct 2002

The Fairfield Ladies celebrated in grand style their 75th anniversary attended by VLBA President Joyce Larkin, Group 14 Councillor Pat, Special guests, past & present members and representatives from 17 clubs. A wonderful day was had by all.

Opening Of The Green - 31 Aug 2002

On a fine spring morning, the club opened its green after a brunch. The mayor of Darebin, Cr Vince Fontana, was present and accepted the honour of being the club's patron, replacing Ron Gleeson. Keith Baglin (Kew Heights BC) represented Group 11. Those present participated in a short intra-club practice match.
