Friends of South Morang Community Service Scholarship

Introduction

The Friends of South Morang proudly supports our local Morang South Primary School as many of our members have had children attend the school and it is also the only school in the South Morang area. In 2002 the Committee identified a scholarship for the school as one of its objectives and gave it priority in 2004 with a successful fundraising campaign generously supported by local businesses and the City of Whittlesea.

Service to the community
Leadership
Commitment to the environment

Candidates are chosen from amongst Grade 5 students by the school with the money paid to the school to be used to off set the successful student's fees or books for the following year. A certificate is presented to the winner at a school function by nominated FOSM Inc representative/s in December each year.

Taylah won this years scholarship for her work helping her mum Laurelle care for injured and orphaned wildlife. In this way she has made a worthwhile contribution to the the protection of our local ecosystem, demonstrated leadership qualities and a commitment to the community. FOSM is very proud of her achievements.
