Eildon Road Children's Centre
ERCC is a community run child care centre in St Kilda. It has over 70 families from around the local community as ERCC members. The centre is based on family groupings and has a kindergarten program that runs in the centre.
The centre is run by a Co-ordinator who is appointed by the Committee of Management. This committee is made up of parents of children at the centre.
This site is for parents to share info, promote events, ask for advice or help. Once you get the hang of it, the site is relatively straightforward.
Guest book
The guest book just lets people know who you are, if you feel like signing it, its there.
Sending messages
If you want to post a question, probably the best thing to do is to use the Forum function. Once you have posted the message, an email will be sent to each member of the mc2 site. The name of the person sending the message will appear in your email. This is better than the notice board, which doesn’t send an email and then relies on people with time on their hands to be idly trawling through the website!
The other option, a bit quicker, is to use the mailing list function, eildoncc@mc2.vicnet.net.au This means that you don’t need to logon onto the mc2 site to send, you can just send it from your email. Down side is that you don’t develop a thread.
Promoting events
The event function allows you to promote events. You will already find term dates, and curriculum days in there, as well as a few other things. To put an event on, just go to events and click on Add Event. Once the moderator of the site has approved the event, each person will receive an email from mc2@vicnet.net.au titled new event. Sometimes this can be mistaken for spam.
Sharing files
If you have a file to share, it is best to use the Share File function. Here you upload a file in a similar manner of attaching a file to an email. In this case please make sure there are no spaces in your file name, and the files need to be smaller than 3mb.
Links and photos
If you see useful links that you think other people might benefit from, you can load these onto the site. In the same way as above, click on Links and add your link. Once it has been approved.
Photos should also be small as possible. There is an auto resize function within the Photos Page.
