East Gippsland Historical Society has a wide range of books in stock covering people, places, gold mining, farming and events in East Gippsland dating back to early settlement. These publications are most helpful for research or learning more about family history and understanding the development of the area.
Each year a calendar is published featuring historical photographs.
Call in and inspect the range available and speak to one of our members on duty for friendly and helpful advice about selection. If you live out of the area, we would be pleased to provide assistance by telephone or email.

Read how a dedicated group of volunteers supported by many in the local community, established and ran a first rate Meals on Wheels service, for over 30 years, .
Meals on Wheels still operates successfully today, thanks to the support from volunteers,, assisting aged and disabled members of the community to stay in their own homes.
From 1968 to 1998 over 273,000 meals had been delivered with approximately 2,390 volunteers being involved, using 1,145 cars each year.
