ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN SCHOOLS (and Presentation Day)

Ecological Footprinting as part of the school curriculum in 2004: a presentation of schools’ experiences with the Ecological Footprint program in Melbourne’s West highlighting how a school can integrate sustainability practices into the curriculum in order to reduce their ecological footprint.

The day will also feature school displays and presentations and is an exciting opportunity for students and teachers to share experiences and ideas.

9.00 am Registration (coffee & tea available)

9.30 am Introduction to the Ecological Footprint in Schools: Joe Natoli (EcoFoot)

9.50 am Williamstown High: A leader in sustainability education in Melbourne and currently planning a whole new school on sustainability guidelines - Steve Cook

10.30 am Mossfiel PS: A primary school that that will show us how students can learn through studying their ecological footprint – Sally Lumley

                                                      11.00 am coffee

11.30 am Your Ecological Footprint monitor. How much electricity/water/gas is your school using now, last week, last year ? What do you need to know to reduce your footprint and save money? See the EcoMonitor in action and consider its place in your environment.

12.00 noon Presentation of certificates and awards
