Lucyvale Better Beef Group Dung Beetle Project
The Better Beef Group is a group of beef farmers from Lucyvale (NE Victoria). In 2006, the group received National Landcare funding to establish a Dung Beetle Project.
The Project aims include:
*to introduce 8-10 species of beetles that will be active all year around.
*to invite all Lucyvale landholders to be part of the project.
*to provide field and training days.
*to monitor dung beetle activity, soil health and water quality.
*to promote the benefits of dung beetles to the wider community.
*to encourage landholders to use dung beetle friendly farming practices.
