Dulaang Bayan Melbourne Inc is a Filipino-based community theatre group designed to use theatre as a forum for artistic, cultural and social development of Filipino migrants in Victoria.

VISION
Founded in 1987 by refuge workers, teachers,nurses, employees, housewives and other civic-minded Filipino community members, DBM is envisioned to present situations, problems and issues relevant to the Filipino community as well as to a wider Australian and multi-cultural sectors.

Objectives:

The following DBM's are objectives are:

a) to encourage community development, group participations, coordination and cooperation among Filipino communities.

b) to articulate the social realties within the Filipino communities in Victoria.

c) to provide a venue for the expressions of artistic and creative talents of migrant Filipinos in Victoria.

d) to provide artistic and leadership training programs to individuals and other interested groups, and

e) to develop a resource-exchange mechanism between Filipino and Australian-based cultural groups as well as other ethnic theatre arts groups.
