Sophie with her age group silver medal.She was the first female home for Australia finishing 6th out of the top 10 in the Hamburg worlds triathlon Championships.There were six Australians to win medals, to acknowledge their great achievments for Australia,congratulations to: MALE 20-24 Jemani Frances (Bronze) 2:01:13, 60-64 Brian Barr (silver) 2:18:47 FEMALE 25-29 Sophie Hawken (silver) 2:15:48, 45-49 Jane Ferguson (Bronze) 2:26:48, 55-59 Julie Kerr (Gold) 2:37:25, Andrena Moore (Bronze) 2:40:14.Sarah Cowley also made the top ten.2:16:08

HOBART 2008 first pro race

Sophie in her first pro race in Hobart 2008.Going into the race a little underdone after a heal injury has kept her from running for ten weeks Sophie managed to finish a creditable 5th.

THIS PAGE FOLLOWS THE PROGRESS OF SOPHIE'S SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND HER FUTURE RESULTS.Sophie has won her second silver medal at Hamburg 2007 in the world age group triathlon championships in the 25-29 group.She was the first Australian female home in 2.15.48. Her other medal was at Madeira in 2004 in the 20-24 age group.
