Learning about the Red Squirrel
Lakeyia was colouring the red squirrel after discovering the squirrel's distress call sounds like a bird whistling.

| The Coonabarabran Gumnut Junior Guides are taking up the challenge of the Brownsea Island Badge. They started at the begin of the term by tackling the first section, The History of Brownsea Island where they listened to the story of the first camp and discussed how the boys felt. The girl drew the island with all main landmarks as well as learnt about where the island was located on a world map. They also tried their hand at making cork squirrels and playing the Squirrel Game with a twist (finding the Promise instead of nuts).
The third section is made up of Tradition Guiding and Scouting Skills which the girls will be continually learning about. |
