Draft Regional Soccer Strategy
Implications for Dendy Park
Bayside Council has released a Draft Regional Soccer Strategy for comment.
The following is a summary of the recommendations for Dendy Park:
− Undertake a feasibility study on converting the athletics infield into a year-round use mid-range synthetic soccer pitch with floodlighting for use by Brighton Soccer Club in winter; consider appropriate security of the pitch and provision of public access
− The synthetic pitch to be accessible to all Bayside soccer clubs for use over the summer season; with allocations to be made by Council
− Redevelop the athletics pavilion with 4 change rooms and expand the social space – for shared use between athletics and soccer
− Extend the lower soccer pavilion to include 4 change rooms and cater for female use through appropriate design of social rooms
− Introduce new floodlights in strategic locations to provide sufficient coverage of all lower playing areas
− Formalise car park
