Garry Shepherd joined the Ideas Incubator in May 2000 to develop
his latest project Cybafaerie*Land. This hybrid reality will
combine a 360 degree immersive environment with interactive
robots.
Garry will use his talents in sculpture, robotics, music
composition, video art and digital media to complete this
project. His previous work includes collaborating with Stelarc
to create interactive video and robotic performances.

Garry also formed the Australian Virtual Orchestra while
artist-in-residence at Optus. The orchestra was comprised of
cable linked human and computer musicians with whom the viewers
could interact during the multi-channel broadcast in March 1998.
At the Ideas Incubator Garry has created a CybaFaerie portal website, www.cybafaeries.com, where humans can enter
Cybafaerie*Land ¡s virtual domain. The history of
Cybafaerie*Land and its faerie robots, called Cybafaeries, are
found on the site as are their tales.
CybaFaerie
Princess Fé-Oh (FAYor) pictured above left, a celebrity in
CybaFaerie*Land, is from the futuristic faerie metropolis of
Mel-Ben.
Functional robot versions of Fé-Oh riding her Wolfdragon
robot, a former member of the palace royal guard, are also being
made by Garry.
They will tour internationally when the Cybafaerie*Land
interactive environment is completed.

website is located at
