Creswick men's shed
This is a friendship group for isolated men in the district. It's an initiative of the Hepburn Health Service that started in September 2001 with a few guys having a morning coffee together in a room at the local hospital's disused Nurse's Home.
In January 2002 we were offered the use of a dilapidated garage behind the Health Service's Emergency Service Accomodation House.
Fortunately this garage has a good room attached suitable for meetings and a smaller laundry room easily converted into our paint shop. A group effort soon poured a new concrete floor and reclad the exterior walls. Subsequent efforts by Rotary,Work for the Dole, Home Hardware, and many individuals saw the completion of an extension that has doubled our working space.
