Plants of beauty are abundant in the gardens of Wallinduc
A closer look at some of the pretty plants and flowers in the gardens around the area, they are at their best in Sring and Summer after the rains in late winter. They bring lots of butterflies and birdlife to the farm gardens and brighten the day.
The plants are many and varied
The flowers of these plants are very beautiful , they are a great attraction to the birds and great flocks come to feast on the nectar, of the Grevillea Robusta which usually flowers in the late Spring early Summer.
Aother part of the garden
A cooling effect on a hot summer's day is achieved by planting cool colour groundcovers in the semi-shaded areas around the house, this will also attract insects and native birds to the garden.
Crop duster at work
A scene sure to stir an aviation enthusiasts heart to be able to watch these skilled pilots at their local office. This sight is commonplace at many locations numerous times of the year, often they can be seen at work from the sides of the main roads.
Our CFA at work
Always on the alert for an emergency this is our local CFA at work.

Some interesting scenes around the area , taken by a local keen photographer who has his camera ready to capture that special moment.

The panoramic horizons at times offer spectacular displays of Mother Nature at her best, painting the skies in readiness for impending storms which are often generated in this area, prior to sweeping towards Melbourne and coastal communities.

Sunsets are often spectacular as are the night skies, which due to the lack of light pollution offer those interested in looking at the stars a full vista of the heavens.

There are other sights to be seen in the sky , such as the odd crop duster in the surrounding paddocks or ultra light aircraft as they wend their way to the coast.

continued....a young resident's view.....

Wallinduc...a little bit of south-west Victoria that sounds like a Waddling-Duck. It has a two digit population, one broken-down church, a fire-shed, a war memorial and a mystery telephone exchange-thingy.

I don't care that it's 60k's from the nearest McDonalds, or that it doesn't have a football team. Wallinduc may be too small for most maps, and barely worth a mention on the World Wide Web, but Wallinduc is my home.

And I think it's kinda cool....
