Cognitive archaeology
This group focuses on that branch of archaeology that investigates the development of human cognition. It deals primarily with such remains as rock art, other forms of palaeoart, including manuports, beads, early ochre use, human interment and similar evidence. More generally its scope also includes other archaeological evidence illustrating human and hominin capacities, be they cultural or technological.
