The Curriculum .....

The Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) provides a learning framework for all Victorian students during their time at school from Prep to Year 10. VELS is a set of state-wide standards which schools use to assist with planning and implementing student learning programs, assess student progress and report to parents. The Curriculum at CCPS covers all the key learning areas with priorities in Literacy and Numeracy.
Curriculum specialities for all students, P-6 include:
• Enthusiastic, multi-skilled teachers, literacy and numeracy intervention/extension programs. A computer to every 2-3 students, mobile library with specialist teacher (MARC).
• Transition programs, Cluster Group Days, Secret Boys Business, Friday Wishes, Tuckshop and Friday Fang.
• Camps, swimming, Joining the Chorus, Electives, ResourceSmart,
• Grade 6 Rotary Awards, intensive “Mates” program that develops student leadership and fosters close, caring relationships across the school.
• Private individual music instruction.

Involvement In Cluster Activites

During cluster activities we represent our school against other small schools. Some students go on to represent our local cluster (Mitchell River) in district competitions. We enjoy meeting and getting to know kids from other small schools.
