Central Gippsland RYAN
RYANs bring together youth service providers, all levels of government, community
representatives and young people with an interest in improving outcomes for young people.
RYANs assist the Government to make informed decisions about policy, planning and
service delivery issues that impact upon young people.
The aims of RYANs are:
1. To provide strategic advice to Government on key issues for young people in Victoria
(with a focus on the five outcome areas in Future Directions);
2. To provide a key means for communication and consultation between the youth
sector, young people and the Victorian Government;
3. To be an advocate for the needs of young people in local and regional strategy
development, community strengthening activity and government policy;
4. To engage young people where appropriate, or consolidate information from youth
engagement activity across the region; and
5. To promote information sharing and collaboration amongst youth service providers.
