International Organization with UN status
Since its inception in California in 1921, Soroptimist International has grown to a world-wide organisation present in over 115 countries.
Members come from many countries, have different cultural backgrounds and follow many creeds, but are united in their efforts to strive for human rights for all.
I have been a member of Soroptimist International since 1996 as part of my continuing interest in the liberating and flourishing of human potential.

As an international organization Soroptimist Internaltional has allowed my horizons to broaden by coming in contact with people from all over the world. It has also given me a context for my life passions at a local level, where the ideals of Soroptimism have been made tangible through local members. And my life has been enriched by them.


With over 95,000 members, Soroptimist International is a Global Voice for Women, working through Awareness Advocacy and Action. The organisation has recognised status with a number of UN Agencies and has representation at UN centres in New York, Paris, Geneva and Vienna.
