Unintentional injuries are a leading cause of death for children and are a major reason for hospital and emergency department admissions in Victoria. In Victoria an average of 126 children per day have to visit an emergency department becuase of an injury.

SafeStart is a new State Government initiative funded by the Department of Human Services. It focuses on the prevention of unintentional injury in children through working with local Governments and communities. The City of Casey is one local government that has been selected to implement the SafeStart project.

'My Connected Community' provides a format to link parents, carers, grandparents service providers and anyone interested in child safety and injury prevention.

Become part of this support network and stay on top of the child safety issues that could impact on your family or those you care for.
