The Bundoora RSL Bowling Club is located in the heart of Bundoora, in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
The club has three excellent greens - 2 Santa Anna couch grass greens and 1 synthetic green, catering for all standards of competition for men and ladies.
The bowls season runs from September through to April, although those clubs with a synthetic green can play all year round. RVBA pennant competition is conducted on Saturdays, while the VLBA pennant competition is played on Tuesdays. Both pennant competitions run from October to March.
Bowls is no longer a sport for the older generations, although many play the game for its enjoyment, social aspects and the competition associated with team sports. Bundoora has developed an enviable record of success with younger age player, with a number being Men's club champions aged less than 21.
We're still looking for mums who have retired from netball, dads who retired from cricket, and students who are looking to take on something a bit different.
Coaching is free, and prospective members can borrow bowls while you're learning the game, and membership fees are subsidized in your first year. So there's nothing stopping you, come on give it a go. Here's the membership application form. Better still bring a friend. Visitors too are always welcome.
