We hope you enjoy your visit to the Buloke Shire, we have so much to offer you. The Buloke Shire is located in North Western Victoria, occupying an area of 8,000 square kilometres and with a population of 7939 people - almost 1 person per square kilometre!
Agriculture is the primary source of both income and employment in the area, with grain production the major industry. Other forms of agriculture, small industry, retail and community sectors provide other employment and income.
There are five main townships within the shire: Birchip, Charlton, Donald, Sea Lake and Wycheproof, offer a comprehensive range of health, education and recreational facilities. We have five small townships - namely Nandaly, Berriwillock, Culgoa, Nullawil and Watchem.
There is something to interest every one in the Buloke area.

Towns and districts on the CALDER highway.

Travel the Calder Highway from Melbourne through to Mildura and stop half way in the Buloke Shire, Towns on the Calder Higway in the shire are (from the South travelling North) Charlton, Wycheproof, Nullawil, Culgoa, Berriwillock, Sea Lake and Nandaly to the North.

Towns & District on the Sunraysia Highway

The Sunraysia Highway goes from Ballarat and travels up through St. Arnaud to Donald, Watchem, Birchip and meets the Calder Highway on the way to Mildura just north of Nandaly. Come for a drive and enjoy our wide open skies.
