What If…..

In an office far, far, far away in the Communication Resource Center was a very funny young lady who everybody loved, she was in an electric wheelchair with speech out of the box for communication. Her work was to help lots of people, with complex communication needs, learn how to use technology,, to communicate better, set new goal's,, and stand up for themselves in day to day life etc.

One day she had an idea to start up a course for people to see what was new for them to use for communication because everybody who she knew with communication aids had very old ones or they didn’t work. So she got everybody together for a two day seminar with lots of new communication aids to try. It went well for her and at the end of the seminar as everyone was over the moon, they decided to make her Queen of the communication world.

About a month later she was at home laying in her comfortable arm chair with a beer in her hand enjoying her life thinking of how she made everybody feel. They can now enjoy their life without being worried about how to communicate with lots of different people in their community. She was so relaxed and happy about this, she fell asleep.

Some hours go by when she was woken up by a messenger who said, “We have a letter for you from the top person of the Communication Resource Center” and she was thrilled to bits, as not many get a letter from the Big Head in the Communication Resource Center.

“Please read it to me, my young man as I’m too tried to use my eyes now as it’s late in the day”

The messenger rolled his eyes while saying “Alright I will read it to you my Queen of the communication world”.

“Dear Madam,

I’m writing to you to congratulate you on your efforts on helping the people with communication needs to get new technology for them. So to reward you for doing this, we are offering you a life time of money $1,000,000 to live off if you can do this again?

Yours truly,
Big Head
Communication Resource Center”

After he finished reading the letter the young man went off so she was alone in her comfortable arm chair smiling and thought of all the money she will have after finishing her job. Then she was beginning to think to herself…
“Oh No, I don’t have anymore people with complex communication needs” As she was getting ready to go to bed, she looked at the floor, in the toilet; it had a secret door in the floor which nobody knew about. She used to make all different potions here before she joined the Communication Resource Center a long time ago, and so went in to look around and everything was perfect just as she remembered.

A few weeks went by as she was busy mixing her potions and finally she came up with the right one and she was over the moon with her actions and said to herself.

“I will be rich now without anybody knowing how I did it.” She had a big laugh at the top of her voice. She was enjoying her time down there without a worry in the world.

She didn’t hear the knock that came on the front door, as she forgot she was having visitors that night. The front door was unlocked so they thought they will come in by themselves as they understood it might be hard for her as she will be busy in the kitchen, but, she wasn’t and they could now hear laughing coming for somewhere in the house.

They searched the house together and finally they opened the toilet door and saw that she had a trap door, and decided to go down and see what was down there.

When they were inside, the trap door shut behind them, while red flashing lights came on, they were so surprised to see her sitting in a corner staring into space. They didn’t know what was going on. Was she all right? What was all the equipment for? They noticed she was starting to come around to normal. “What are you two doing here”? She enquired non-chalantly.

“You asked us to come over for dinner. Do you remember? They asked. “Oh yes, that’s right, but I forgot about it when I received the letter from the Big Head at the Communication Resource Center.” So they read it and replied. “You are up to your old tricks again my dear friend, so we have to report it back to the big head and they will put another bad tick on your name”.

“Please don’t, I have learnt my lesson now, and I will never do it again.” Then suddenly she woke up and realized it was only a dream. As she was going to her bed, on passing the toilet, looking at her floor while whistling to herself she thought “Maybe, one day, it will happen”.

The end…
