The overall cost of the trip is £3125 which we have to raise by ourselves, via jobs, fundraising activities or sponsorships.
That may sound a lot, but it provides us with expert knowledge, safety equipment and insurance in case something goes horribly wrong. On top of that money, we also need money for our equipment, for example boots, bags - sleeping bags and rucksacks. We are provided with equipment such as tents. While in country we have 4 main units to complete: 1. Acclimatisation I.e. getting used to the altitude and climate. 2. Trekking I.e. a long multi-day hike which will involve camping. It may also involve parts in the rainforest and climbing volcanoes. 3. Community Work A community based project such as painting a mural at a school. 4. Rest & relaxation A chance to chill, explorer the country, and buy some souvenirs. |
