| A brief history Bendigo Arts Alliance was formed in 1998 out of the then existing Arts Bendigo. A primary objective of BAA was to establish and collaboratively maintain a Community Art Centre in the City of Greater Bendigo, Victoria. Unfortunately this objective was never achieved. Another important aim of BAA was to act as an umbrella community incorporated organisation to lobby local and state government bodies. BAA maintained strong affiliations with Regional Arts Victoria and had a positive close working relationship with Cultural Development and Events unit of the City of Greater Bendigo. Bendigo Arts Alliance has hosted or been actively involved in a variety of community arts projects. Bendigo Arts Alliance was formally wound up and its assets were distributed to like-minded community groups as of 31st March 2005. |
