Brimbank Early Years Reference Group (BEYRG)
The Brimbank Early Years Reference Group (BEYRG) is a voluntary collaboration between local services, community members and agencies who are stakeholders in the well being of children aged 0-12 and their families in Brimbank.

It is widely recognised that a coordinated approach to supporting families in the raising of children will build the strength of the community in the long term. We recognise that parents, community services, schools and preschools, the health services, governments and the broader community all have a role to play in giving children the best chance in life.

VISION

“The City of Brimbank will have resilient, happy and healthy children, self reliant parents supported by integrated, equitable and accessible services.”

BEYRG’s primary aim is to improve outcomes for children 0-12 and families in the City of Brimbank through a collaborative approach to service planning and delivery. BEYRG currently oversees 31 projects being delivered in Brimbank to families and children.

BEYRG is co-facilitated by The Smith Family and Brimbank City Council and has participation from early years services, primary schools, family services, community representatives, health services, university, charitable organisations and local community stakeholders as well as all three levels of government.

The Early Years Reference Group seeks to
• Provide strategic input and set direction for collaborative projects that focus on the early years in Brimbank.

• Establish a forum for identifying collaboration, systemic improvements and enhanced coordination in the provision of early years services and activities.

• Provide an efficient reference/governance structure for each of the Brimbank Communities for Children and Best Start projects operating in Brimbank and for future collaborative projects.

• Improve coordination of effort at a systemic and coordination level for early years service planning in Brimbank.
