Rain at the lake brings plenty of PB's
On a night better suited for ducks, 18 athletes lined up in the latest Athletics Bendigo Trot Around Tuesdays time trials held at Lake Weeroona.
In constant drizzle, many athletes put in some great performances, including Nick Crome who ran a season best 9.57 minutes for the 3000 metres, just one second in front of debutant Josh Fahy 9.58 minutes.
Mike Duell was third fastest on the night, stopping the clock in a personal best time of 10.08 minutes.
Theresa Martin was the fastest female on the night with a season best 11.36 minutes.
Phil Brown ran a personal best of 11.56 minutes, as did Brendan Ryan in 12.34 minutes and Gloria Bellman 16.38 minutes.
Tom Savage put in another fine performance, running 11.57 minutes, after running his inter-school Cross Country earlier in the day.
Next Tuesday night is a training night starting at 5.30pm through to 6.45pm.
The next Time Trial night will be on Tuesday 16 th June with a 3000 metres & 1500 metres starting together at 6.00pm.
As a one off, on the 30 th June, a 1500 metre time trial only will be run, starting at 6.00pm.
Entry is free, all runners, joggers & walkers are most welcome, just report to the table closest to the Nolan Street Car Park at least 10 minutes prior to start time.
The group meet each Tuesday night through to the end of September.
