Melbourne Cup 3200m
Tuesday 3rd November, 2009

Josh Savage has taken out the two legged version of the race that stops the nation, when Athletics Bendigo ran the Melbourne Cup 3200 metre handicap on Tuesday night.
Coincidently, 23 runners lined up, the same field as the big race and it was Savage that won, not Shocking.
As one of the light weights (frontmarkers), Savage won in a time of 13.29 minutes to beat Fraser Walsh 11.22 with one of the top weights (backmarkers) Bryan Keely in 3 rd place with a time of 10.07.
Topweight Brady Threlfall recorded the fastest time of 9.28 minutes for the 2 miles, which was an excellent time in windy conditions.
Michelle Stevenson was the first and fastest female in 12.37 minutes.
Next Tuesday's normal run will be a 3000 metres at 7.00pm.
