WHO IS AND WHAT IS A.I.R?

A.I.R is an association of Australian retirees who are either fully or partly self funded.

It is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee, and run by volunteers for the benefit of its members.

Its major purpose is to represent the interests of the rapidly growing number of self funded retirees in the community.

The company has branches in all the states and territories. The Bayside branch is one of 14 branches in Victoria.

WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF A.I.R. LIMITED?

>To work for the benefit and welfare of our members.
>To seek fair and just economic, taxation and social outcomes
that recognise and compensate for the special problems of
self funded retirees.
>To provide and facilitate information on matters affecting
retirees.
>To carry out research in order to further the objects of the
Company.
>To seek recognition as a body speaking for retirees at Local,
State and Federal Government levels, the community at large
and the media.
>To foster membership of the Company throughout Australia.
>To co-operate with other organisations with similar objects

WHY SHOULD I JOIN A.I.R?.

We here at Bayside branch think there are very good reasons:

> take advantage of existing member benefits.
> add your voice to A.I.R.'s National Secretariat in Canberra
which enables expert advocacy and lobbying and a recognised
presence in the national capital.
> hear talks and presentations on subjects of specific retiree
interest at monthly branch meetings.
> regular publication of magazines and newsletters containing
subjects of special interest to self funded retirees.
> exclusive A.I.R Affinity Visa Classic Card. Only to members. No
joining fee. No annual charge.

All of this for a very low annual subscription!

---------------------

Dear Reader,

This is just a brief overview of who we are and what we do. We would welcome you as a new member at our branch if you would like to join us. Now that A.I.R. and its branches are linked together on the internet, communications are speedy and interactive. If you are not on the internet, our regular branch meetings will give you the opportunity to express your own views. As self-funded retirees we all have a common interest in securing the best possible benefits that we are entitled to from governments. And as our logo proclaims we simly ask for Justice & Equality while retaining our Independence.

Dick Morgan,
Branch President.
