ABI Clubhouse Interest Group
The ABI Clubhouse is for people that have an interest in the development of a Clubhouse for people with an ABI in the NW region of Melbourne (this may include people with an ABI, carers, service providers, government representatives, community members and other interested persons). The Clubhouse is a consumer-directed, community-based day program that is operated by and for its members who experience disability following brain injury. The Clubhouse is not about creating new supports or services but about filling a gap and linking into or modifying that which is already available. The Clubhouse has a work ordered day and members work alongside staff to do the work of the Clubhouse. Initially people who have an ABI, who wish to continue their individualised goal directed rehabilitation within a group environment would be invited to become members of the Clubhouse.
