Quick Tips
Problems using the mc2 site?  Try these:

Tip #1 You can change your email address at any time by following the My Profile link at the top right of every page [you must log in first]
Tip #2 Create your own Webpage with mc² - just follow the My Webpage link [top right, when logged in]
Tip #3 Find out how to post an image with your Forum entry
Tip #4 You can store your computer files in your mc² Webspace, then access them again from any Internet-connected machine. Just click on My Files, top right of any screen
Tip #5 You can vote in an online poll for your community - just click on the Polls section of your group [link on left hand side, when in any group]
Tip #6 You only need to register with mc² ONCE to become a member, but you must LOGIN every time you visit.
Tip #7 There are no charges associated with the use of mc² - everything is free! [all you need pay for is Internet Access]
Tip #8 You can see which communities you are a member of at any time, just by clicking on My Communities [top right, when logged in]
Tip #9 You can create your own community any time... click on My Communities [top right, when logged in], then Create a Community [left]
Tip #10 Group owners and moderators can provide password protection for sensitive files, via the Group Files option for any community
Tip #11 You can elect to receive (or unsubscribe from) Forum postings by email, via the My Communities view
Tip #12 You can elect to receive (or unsubscribe from) Alerts by Email of new Polls, Links or Events; via the My Communities view
Tip #13 Keep in touch with the latest features added to mc² by checking the Whats New link often.
Tip #14 From the Whats New link [top of any page] you can always View the most recent communities to join mc2

Tip #16 You can send an automatic email to others, inviting them to join your group. Just click on the Invite a Friend link [towards the bottom left of any community you are a member of]

Tip #18 Add a Picture or Logo to your Community via Group Settings [link for owner or moderators only: bottom left of each group]
Tip #19 Download a Free Training Manual [available for both ordinary members and owner/moderators]
Tip #20 Each community has a 24 hour Chat Room facility. You can have 1-on-1 chats, play sounds or use colours. Chat Help is available
Tip #21 To protect your computer, mc² strongly advise that everyone installs, runs and frequently updates a virus checking program! Read more on Virus Protection
Tip #22 The mc² Website is designed to work best with the latest browser. Test your computer setup to ensure you are achieving optimum performance !
Tip #23 You can share files with other members via the Shared Files facility of each group ...not just newsletters, but any file format: Word and text documents, spreadsheets, images, Webpages, even sound files !
Tip #24 To see the full text of all Forum messages in one go, use the Expand function [linked top & bottom of any Forum page]
Tip #25 You can Search the Forum by ticking the appropriate checkboxes below the search slot [found top right of any group Forum]
Tip #26 Read How to find a community. Includes searching by keyword, browsing by category and both total and alphabetical group lists
Tip #27 When you Sign the Guestbook in any community, you can also include a link to your favorite website
Tip #28 Each community can have its own Homepage. Owners & moderators can create this from a template, via Group Webpage, or upload externally created webpages via Group Files
Tip #29 Clicking on the little home icon home in your group's members list will display the Homepage of the individual member
Tip #30 You can send everyone in your group an email, just by entering a message in the Forum. Forum messages are automatically sent to all members [unless they have unchecked Forum notification for this group, via My Communities]
Tip #31 Each mc² member has 10Mb Free Webspace allocated to them for storing their files: photos, Word or text documents, minutes, spreadsheets etc. Access this via My Files [top right when logged in]
Tip #32 Each group has 50Mb Free Webspace for storing their files: photos, Word or text documents, minutes, spreadsheets etc. Owners & moderators can access this via Group Files [bottom left of your group]
Tip #33 Be sure to provide some interesting content in any new group you create, before inviting people to join it!  A ''shop with empty shelves'' isn't very enticing!
Tip #34 When you create a group, make there sure you put at least one entry in each section: a Forum message for people to read, a Guestbook entry introducing yourself, a forthcoming Event to go to, a Poll to vote in, a Shared File or document to read etc.
Tip #35 Group owners & moderators: Find out How to make your group active and successful Your members will need Internet Access, Skills and Training. Your group will benefit from stimulating discussion and interesting content.
Tip #36 Remember you can Refresh Refresh pages to view the latest changes, especially when you post a message, submit content or make changes to your Webpage
Tip #37 'clickAvatars are used to represent yourself online with a small, personalised icon, or image. You can choose your own avatar by going to My Profile and either selecting an image from the drop-down box, or uploading your own image.
Tip #38 Group Owners can change the colours and layout of the Group Info page, via the Customise link [towards the bottom left of any group you have created]
Tip #39 Remember to set up Categories in the Links section of any group you own [until you do, nobody can add Links]
