Monitoring your Polls

Only the owners & moderators of a community can create new POLLS, though members can send you an email message suggesting one. Note that once a poll has been created it can't be modified - if you need to make any changes you'll have to delete the poll & create it again. As an owner or moderator, you can also close a poll when you feel members have had sufficient time to vote, or when the poll question no longer has any relevance.

To create a new poll

  1. click on Polls (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)

  2. click on Create a Poll

  3. type the relevant details in the text boxes
    Poll question

  4. if necessary - click on Add 2 more Poll options
and type in some more alternative answers to your poll question, e.g. "all of the above", "other" [please explain/discuss in Forum]

  5. click on Add Polls

To close an existing Poll

  1. click on Polls (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. click on Close Poll (found to the far right of the poll question)

Tip:

  • People will want to try voting more than once, but they can't! Each login can only have one vote. You may change your vote as often as you like, before the Poll closes, though

  • Once closed, you cannot re-open a Poll

To Delete an existing poll

  1. click on Polls (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. click on DELETE (found to the far right of the poll question)
  3. click on OK in the pop-up window that appears
Are you sure (that you want to DELETE this)?
