Monitoring your Events

If a member submits a new EVENT, you must approve and release it before it becomes visible in your community's calendar. You can also suspend an existing event (eg. if it's been postponed), edit an event (eg. to correct spelling mistakes), or delete an event if it contains inappropriate content or is finished / has been cancelled.

To Approve/Release a new event

  1. click on Events (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. click on Show Events Pending Approval
  3. click on Release (found to the left of the entry)
  4. click on Return to go back to the events page

To Suspend an existing event

  1. click on Events (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. click on Suspend to return the event to pending status

To Edit an event

  1. click on Events (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. if you haven't approved the event yet - click on Show Events Pending Approval
  3. click on [EDIT] (found at the bottom of the entry's description)
  4. make the required changes (eg. correct any spelling errors)
  5. click on Update Event
  6. click on Return to go back to the events page

Tip:  you can edit both a new event (ie. before it's released) & an existing event

To Delete an event

  1. click on Events (found on the left-hand side, when in your group)
  2. if you haven't approved the event yet - click on Show Events Pending Approval
  3. click on DELETE (found to the left of the entry)
  4. click on YES
  5. click on Return to go back to the events page

Tips:
  • You can delete both a new event (ie. before it's released) & an existing event

  • When an event is over, rather than deleting it, you may wish to just suspend it. That way, you still have a record of your group's past activities, available to owners/moderators. This can be useful e.g. when completing an Annual Report
