Change Ownership

• Only owners can transfer the ownership of the group to another member, moderators can't do this

• The potential new owner must already be an existing group member. If they aren't, they will have to apply to join the group and be approved as an ordinary member, first

• Once ownership is transferred, the original owner becomers an ordinary member again (not a moderator)

• Only the new owner can restore moderator powers to the old owner

• Once handed over, ownership can only be restored to the original owner at the discretion of the new owner

To make a member the new owner:

To change ownership, the owner must login and go to group in question. Once logged into the group, there is an option towards the bottom left of the screen [in the grey section, just after Delete Group]

Change Ownership

1. click on Change Ownership
   (found towards the bottom left-hand side, when in your group)

2. click on the required member's name from the drop-down list
   
3. click on the Change Ownership button
4. click on Return to go back to the members page

Tip:  once you have handed over ownership, you will revert to ordinary member status & only the new owner will be able to appoint moderators & change ownership again

	Remember, only owners can change ownership, appoint Moderators and delete the group
