1 Forum Email is sent by default to all members, unless they have specifically gone to My Communities and unticked the Forum checkbox.
2 The Mailing List feature is not available by default, but if the owner of your group has enabled it [via Group Settings], members will need to manually subscribe to it by ticking the Mailing List checkbox [on the My Communities view], and updating their details, to get mail.
3 Alert Email is sent by default to all new members, unless they have specifically gone to My Communities and unticked the Alert checkbox. Existing members may need to manually tick the 4 Only owner/moderators can establish a Poll, but once created, any member can vote , without approval. 5 Approval may be required before being able to join a group, it depends on the Group Settings. Owner/moderators can select whether new members go through an approval stage, or not. The default is YES, they need approval. If approval is required, owner/moderators are notified by email. The new member is notified by email if/when they are approved.
