But before this Java chat window opens, a window may pop up, similar to the one shown below. This is what you would see if you are using Internet Explorer (IE) as your browser:
You must click on
to enter the chat.
If you just get a grey screen, your machine may not be Java-enabled. See below: Java support must be enabled
This window may look different in different browsers - in Netscape you need to click on
- see Netscape here. If you downloaded Java directly from Sun, then you may get a different Java Security Warning - just click "Grant". VICNET has paid a license fee to JPilot to use their chat applet. As such, we do not consider running it a high security risk, indeed, without it, you can't chat!
If you click "NO" [or "Deny"], you will not be able to use chat!
If you do so by mistake, you may need to close your whole browser and start again!
The Chat Window should now be open:

If you just get a grey box, as below:
it could be because you do not have Java or Javascript enabled on your browser. See: Java support must be enabled
