Connection or Firewall problems
If the java chat applet is running fine, but you are having problems connecting to our actual chat server [mc2.vicnet.net.au, on port 6667], it may be a firewall problem.
What is a firewall?. If this is the case, you will have to request that the Network Administarator for your workplace allows access to port 6667, for access to chat. If you are running firewall software on your own computer, you will either have to disable it, or configure it to allow port 6667 access.
