URL of Group Website

The URL of Group Website is for you to input an optional link to your group webpage [when/if you have one!]. You can set it when first creating the group, or you can input or edit it later via Group Settings. You could make it point to your mc2 Group Webspace [e.g. mc2.vicnet.net.au/home/webspacename/ ] or to an existing Website for your group, if you have one [e.g. www.yourgroup.com.au]

Question:

    On some Group Info pages there is a "little house" icon link hose icon that takes you to the group website, but there is also a Website: link - how are they different, or should they be the same?

Answer:

    If you're using the Webpage Generator to create a Webpage for your Group, then the little house icon/link Homepage Icon/Link won't appear automatically. You have to go to Group Settings and input the URL of your group webpage in the field: URL of Group Website. The house will then appear as a link on the Group Info page.

    The Homepage Icon/Link will, however, appear as a link if the URL of Group Website field is completed in Group Settings, even if the URL is not to your mc² Group Webspace, but to another Website. The link will then go to e.g. myorganisation.org.au

N.B. You can create your Personal Homepage by following the link to My Webpage. This appears on the orange navigation bar [top right] when you are logged in to mc2. Owners & moderators can create a Webpage for their group by following the link to Group Webpage [bottom left, when logged into your group].
