URL of Forum Image you can add a picture to your FORUM message

If you want to post a picture with your Forum entry, you can provide details in the "Image URL" field. This is an optional field. If given, the URL must refer to a .gif or .jpg image file already on the Web

e.g. www.mygroupsite.com.au/images/myimage.gif
or   mc2.vicnet.net.au/images/balloons.gif
or   mc2.vicnet.net.au/home/webspacename/myimage.gif

broken, or missing, imageDo not refer to a .htm or .html webpage here, or a "broken image" symbol will appear with your entry - it is looking for an image file here, not a webpage.

If the image you wish to refer to is not on a Website anywhere yet, you can upload it into your Webspace by using the "My Files" upload facility, or the "Shared Files" or "Photos" area of your Group.

Once uploaded, you can find out the URL of any image by right-clicking on it, then select "properties". Try right-clicking on this image, to see what we mean:

Click on this image with your RIGHT mouse button, then select PROPERTIES, to see the URL of this image: http://mc2.vicnet.net.au/images/URLtest.gif

You can highlight the URL with your mouse, then use the "Ctrl-C" keys to copy it to the clipboard, then "Ctrl-V" paste it into the "Image URL" field.

You may find it easier to have 2 browser windows open to do this - one showing the image you want, the other showing the Forum page.
