| RE:Drench | From: Pamela Lawson Date: 08/09/2008 | Hi Stephen
I have recently written an article for our monthly magazine Farming Ahead which answers your questions to some extent. If you go to our website www.farmingahead.com.au you can take up a free 30 day trial membership by going to the JOIN NOW tab, saying that you are not a current member and accepting the trial offer. This then gives you access to all our articles and reports online, so if you do a search for 'beetle' my article titles Beetle Power will come up which talks about how long various types of drences are toxic to beetles.
Cydectin is a Moxidectin which treats gastrointestinal roundworms (brown stomach worms - 28 days of persistent activity), lungworms (42 days of persistent activity), cattle grubs, mites and 4 types of lice.
It does not treat fluke but it is believed the impact of white fluke drenches on dung beetles is not significant as they are cleared from the animal through urine and not dung.
Hope this helps
